Asbestos Training Courses
40 Hour Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor – $650 – This five-day asbestos training course is designed for contractors and supervisors who will be managing asbestos Class I &II projects and supervising workers, and/or will be the designated competent person. This course follows the EPA Asbestos Model Accreditation Plan and includes extensive hands-on exercises throughout the five days. Topics covered include: Asbestos Identification, Health Effects, Personal Protective Equipment, Control Methods, Removal Techniques, Health & Safety Issues, State and Federal Regulations, Legal Considerations, Air Sampling & Monitoring, Recordkeeping and Supervisor Duties.
8 Hour Asbestos Abatement Contractor/Supervisor Refresher – $195 – Available in English and Spanish This one-day training course is required annually to extend accreditation. Course includes a review of the initial training topics, regulatory changes, current trends and proposed legislation. A copy of proof of your most recent training certificate must be provided to the instructor.
32 Hour Asbestos Worker – $550 – Available in English and Spanish – This four-day asbestos training course is designed for individuals that will be working on Class I & II projects, and provides an overview of abatement procedures and worker protection. This course follows the EPA Asbestos Model Accreditation Plan and includes extensive hands-on exercises throughout the four days. Topics covered include: Asbestos Identification, Health Effects, Personal Protective Equipment, Control Methods, Removal Techniques, Health & Safety Issues, and State and Federal Regulations.
8 Hour Asbestos Worker Refresher – $195 – Available in English and Spanish This one-day training course is required annually to extend accreditation. Course includes a review of the initial training topics, regulatory changes, current trends and proposed legislation. A copy of proof of your most recent training certificate must be provided to the instructor.
24 Hour Asbestos Building Inspector – $500 – This three-day training course is designed for individuals that will be performing inspections, assessing the condition of suspect material and collecting asbestos samples. Topics covered include: Asbestos awareness, responsibilities and functions of building inspectors, legal liabilities, building systems, public & employee building occupant relations, pre-inspection planning and review, inspecting for friable and non-friable asbestos, bulk sampling and documentation, personal protection equipment, record keeping, reporting and regulatory review.
4 Hour Asbestos Building Inspector Refresher – $150 – This half-day training course is required annually to extend accreditation. Course includes a review of the initial training topics, regulatory changes, current trends and proposed legislation. A copy of proof of your most recent training certificate must be provided to the instructor.
16 Hour Operations & Maintenance (O&M) – $300 – This two-day training course is designed for maintenance and custodial involved in general maintenance where asbestos containing material (ACM) is likely to be disturbed. Course includes hands-on exercises and demonstrations. Topics covered include: Identifying Asbestos, Developing an O&M Program, Health Effects, Personal Protective Equipment, Control Methods and Work Practices.
4 Hour Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Refresher – $150 – This half-day course is required annually to extend accreditation. Course includes a review of the initial training topics, current trends and proposed legislation.
2 Hour Asbestos Awareness – $ flat fee, group rate – This course provides a basic understanding of asbestos, it’s hazards, safe work practices and EPA and OSHA requirements and compliance.
