In addition to training courses, Iowa Lead Safety also offers the following services to you and your customers:

Full-Service Lead Inspection   A comprehensive analysis of the lead content of painted surfaces inside and outside of the home. The XRF is used to measure the lead content of all painted surfaces and then classifies the results as either positive or negative for lead-based paint. The painted surfaces are also classified as to the condition of the paint.  Clients who are going to perform extensive renovation work are highly encouraged to take advantage of this analysis. Results are obtained on-site and the report is usually available within 48 hours.

Component Testing    A comprehensive analysis of the lead content of specific painted surfaces inside the home which cannot be tested by using a chemical test swab.  The XRF is used to measure the lead content of specific painted surfaces , and then classifies the results as either positive or negative for lead-based paint. Results with the XRF are immediately available, and the report is usually available within 48 hours.

Clearance Testing   is performed to make sure that the cleaning procedure after the renovation or abatement work was done correctly and to ensure that the work has been acceptably completed and that the space is safe for reoccupation.  Clearance testing also determines whether or not Lead Safe Work Practices were used while work was being performed.  This type of testing also allows the contractor to establish that as of a particular date and time, the space was in a lead safe condition.

XRF Hazard Screening   This evaluation is perfect for the residential home buyer who wants general information about the house as it pertains to lead-based paint and possible problem areas. This evaluation focuses on surfaces that could pose a threat of lead-based hazards if lead-based paint were on these surfaces. The surfaces that are measured with the XRF are friction and impact surfaces such as doors, door jambs, thresholds, baseboards, windows, painted floors.  Results with the XRF are immediately available, and the report is usually available within 48 hours.

Risk Assessment   identifies if lead-based paint hazards (conditions that can cause harmful exposures to lead, particularly for young children and pregnant women) exist and, if so, provide solutions on reducing and managing such hazards until such time as complete abatement takes place.  A Risk Assessment Report identifies any lead-based paint hazards found, and provides options for controlling these hazards.  Pricing is based upon the size of the property.

Certified Lead Free Inspection  Available only in Iowa, this evaluation is a comprehensive analysis of the lead content of every painted surface inside and outside of the home or building. The XRF is used to measure the lead content of all painted surfaces and then classifies the results as either positive or negative for lead-based paint. The painted surfaces are also classified as to the condition of the paint.  If the entire house, inside and out, tests negative for lead based paint, the property is certified as lead free.   This type of inspection is especially useful for rental properties, as landlords and building owners can use this report in place of pre-renovation notification and rental disclosure for lead.  Price is based upon the size of the property and number of units
